Heathcliff was a gypsy rescued by Mr Earnshaw of Wuthering Heights |

Heathcliff brought up with Hindley & Catherine. |

The arrival of the gypsy bred bad feeling. Heathcliff was hated by Hindley, loved by Catherine. |

When Mr Earnshaw died, Hindley became heir. Revengefully he made Heathcliff a lowly labourer/stable boy. |

Heathcliff endured this simply to be near Catherine who he adored, they shared many interests. |

Surprisingly, Catherine accepts a proposal of marriage from Edgar Linton of Thrushcross Grange. Heathcliff can not accept the betrayal and vanishes for 3 years. |

Heathcliff returns as a gentleman and gains power of Hindley who is a drunk and gambler |

Heathcliff lends Hindley money to gamble and gains ownership of WH |

Heathcliff breaks up Catherine’s marriage, indirectly causes her death upon birth of daughter, Cathy. |

Heathcliff marries Edgar’s sister, Isabella and treats her poorly for revenge. |

Heathcliff ill-treats Hindley’s son, Hareton in revenge for his treatment. |

Heathcliff claims Thrushcross Grange when Edgar dies which he inherits through his wife. |

Heathcliff terrorises his weak son, Linton to marry Edgar’s daughter, Cathy. |

Linton dies thus Heathcliff is the owner of WH & TG. |

Heathcliff dies. There is a promise of marriage between Hareton and Cathy the real heirs of the estates. |
